Races
Ordinaries
Plain old regular humans. They have their strengths and their flaws, but when it comes down to their genetics, they are what nature made them. Be aware that Ordinaries cannot live in Terminal City, even if they are aligned with them, because Terminal City is flooded with radiation and bio toxins that will make Ordinaries sick and eventually die. They can work there, but even remaining in the city every day will make them sick and possibly shorten their lifespan.
Transgenics
Designed to be soldiers, the DNA of Transhumans has been modified, spliced and combined with the DNA of various animals to optimize their performance. There are three types of Transgenics, all of which have barcodes tattooed on the back of their necks for easy identification.X-Series
The X-Series were designed to look entirely human, with super human abilities such as strength, speed and intelligence. Depending on the type of animal whose DNA they received, they may have other skills or advantages in one area or another. In addition to super soldiers, IT Concentrates were also created as tactical support, who are capable of processing vast quantities of data but have little physical prowess. While the soldiers were designed to be attractive, the IT concentrates were designed to be forgettable so they wouldn't be noticed by the enemy.
Transhumans
Transhumans were designed to perform specific tasks, regardless of their appearance. Some were designed to survive in desert climates and have lizard skin as an adaptation, but not all transhumans look inhuman. There are also Psy Ops humans, designed with telepathic abilities to get information from the enemy; like the X-series, they were designed to look attractive and entirely human, but have no enhanced abilities besides their mental prowess.
Anomalies
Anomalies are transgenics that didn't come out too right. Whether they had too much animal DNA in their cocktail or were missing limbs, they were deemed failures by Manticore and were kept locked up. It's known that X-series 1-4 were all failures, with the majority of the subjects being terminated and only a few kept as research subjects. Anomalies do not look human at all.
Familiars
A result of millenia of selective breeding to produce the ultimate humans, Familiars possess superior strength and speed, among other abilities that their lines have been bred for through the generations. They were produced by the Snake Cult's obsessive breeding program and have been indoctrinated with the belief that they are the best of humanity, and possess an innate hatred for all Transgenics.
