What are subplots?
Subplots are an organized way to get people together for the purpose of moving a story along, whether it's to contribute to the overall plot of the site or an individual character's development.
Who can create subplots?
Everyone! If you have an idea for a plot for your character's story, go ahead and post it. If you want to do something with far-reaching, site wide consequences, please contact an admin first.
Who can be involved with subplots?
When creating a subplot, please specify how many characters you want to be involved, and give an idea of who you need. For instance, if you want to seek out your long lost brother, you may want someone good at finding information. If your brother is being held at a government facility, you may then require muscle to get them out. You may also want an antagonist to create some obstacles for your merry band; however if you need someone to oppose you and no one signs up, feel free to contact the admin to play an NPC for you! Please do not use the subplot as a way to recruit your brother; to get someone to join as him, put up an ad in Character Requests. Subplots should be a way for existing members to interact. If you are waiting for the ad for your brother to be filled, you can still play out the subplot of looking for him, it simply may have to be unsuccessful until someone picks him up!
How active do I need to be to create or participate in a subplot?
If you want your roleplay partners to post at a particular pace, please post that in your Subplot when you create it. When signing up for a subplot, make sure that you are able to meet this pace before you agree to be involved. If something comes up and you aren't able to meet this pace, please make sure to contact everyone involved with the subplot so that arrangements can be made so that everyone can continue to enjoy their time and things do not slow down.
Still have questions?
Post them up here so that everyone can read the answers! If you'd rather PM the Admin, that's fine too!
